About Me

Jennifer graduated from University College Cork in 2007 and has over 17 years experience working within the public and private sectors.

Jennifer currently works privately on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings. Jennifer also works part-time at the Down Syndrome Centre Cork.

Jennifer is Coru registered and a full member of the Irish Association of Speech and Language Therapists (IASLT) and Independent Speech-Language Therapists of Ireland (ISTI).

Professional Development

Jennifer is fully trained in the following:

  • LAMH (a manual sign system for individuals with an intellectual disability and communication needs). Jennifer is also trained as a Lámh tutor.
  • Jennifer holds a QQI Level 3 in Irish Sign Language.
  • Hanen Programmes ‘It Takes Two To Talk’ and ‘More than Words’.
  • Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS-2).
  • Jolly Phonics Programme for developing reading and writing with children.
  • Shape Coding, Part 1 by Dr. Susan Ebbels. Shape coding is used to teach spoken and written grammar to school-aged children with Developmental Language Disorder (DLD). 
  • Attention Autism training by Gina Davies.
  • SCERTS training (Social Communication, Emotional Regulation, and Transactional Support).
  • The Reading and Language Intervention Programme for children with Down Syndrome.
  • Alex Kelly’s Social Skills Training .
  • ‘Speech Sound Disorders and Intellectual Disability’ by Dr. Caroline Bowen.
